The week before last week I worked on lab09. This was a pretty complicated lab. I went through it once while helping a friend. Then when I did by myself I already knew what I was supposed to do and I was able to do it a much simpler way. Though I don't think I'll be using this method in the future since I basically did the lab twice. But really helped my comprehension. I also enjoyed not having a quiz over this material.

Last week we worked on lab08. I once again tried to use my system of working on my stuff in the mornings at home, but this time it failed me. I set my alarm wrong and ended up waking up three hours later than I had planned. Because of this I had to finish my entire lab in class as it was due at the end of the day. I couldn't do it though. Towards the end, when I saw my defeat was imminent, I just gave up. I'm going to try to be more productive from now on. I'll also try to set my alarms correctly.
The week before last week we worked on finishing all the lab07s. I did most of 07a at home because I was working on other things during class. I'm a lot more productive at home. I think this is because I have class at the end of the day when I'm tired out from the day and feeling unmotivated. But when I go home I immediately go to bed and then get up early in the morning, feeling very refreshed, and do all my homework then. This system works very well for me. I enjoyed working with strings in these labs. I took the quiz and didn't do as well as I expected. Some questions seemed too easy to me and I over thought them, thinking they were deceptively simple.

Last week we started working more in depth with strings. I have a little experience working with this because I did extra credit work online that dealt with strings. Having this knowledge is helpful. We also started lab07. Part a is quite difficult and there are some parts I don't understand. I ended up skipping ahead to parts b and c. They were very easy and took a short amount of time. We also started learning about lists. I am a little behind because I had a college visit one day day last week. It took longer than I expected and I missed the introduction to lists and a quiz on strings. I will have to take the quiz soon and catch up on lists on my own.

The week before last week was the last week before spring break. It seemed to drag on forever. In computer programming, we continued work with the finches and watched some ted talks. I was very impressed with the finch library. It has some interesting stuff. I wrote a code to make my finch check the weather and come out if it was above 70 degrees. On our last day of class before spring break we watched a bunch of videos. I love to see all the cool new technology. I especially like it when ordinary things are used to do something that I didn’t even think possible. It just goes to show the creativity of the human mind.
I worked on project02. For some reason, I really like this project. It’s my favorite so far. It just clicks in my head. Writing comments still gets on my nerves though. But I can see how they’re helpful. I can look at my code and see exactly what it’s supposed to do and if it’s working properly. This can be helpful if there's a problem and I need to go right to where it's messing. And anybody who's using my prewritten code can understand it better. Comments are just a pain to write.

We began work with the finches. I think these things are pretty cool. It feels interesting to know that I can cause something to move with words I type on my computer and then to watch it happen. Because I finished early, I started looking at the other things that you could do with the finches in the finch library. This stuff seems pretty random and unrelated to the finches but still very cool. I hope to work more with the finches.
